I’m from the great state of Arkansas:

I was born in a small town called El Dorado in south Arkansas but my family moved to central Arkansas when I was two years old and I've been here ever since, except for a brief stint at a whitewater rafting company in Colorado, and six months living under a volcano in the highlands of Guatemala.

I went to college at the University of Arkansas, and quickly learned that I wasn't particularly good at school, so I dropped out and moved to Quetzaltenango, Guatemala to chase a girl, and also to see if there’s a God (there is).

After six months of bumming around the mountains of Central America, the girl and I moved back to Arkansas and we've been married since 2004. We have three amazing kids (scroll back up to the photo), two kayaks, one dog, and a totally decent pop-up camper.

After an embarrassing number of years slogging through the last bit of college, I finally graduated with a bachelors degree in Construction Management, which I’ve only sort-of used. I've been a freelance creative full-time since the fall of 2008.

Early Work:

I started out as a photographer in 2008, and like many photographers, the first gigs I landed were second-shooting weddings, and assisting on family and kid portrait sessions. From there, I quickly started picking up similar photo jobs on my own, which I did exclusively for my first year or so.

In the fall of 2009 I got a call from another photographer looking to hire a back-up shooter for events at the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service, founded by President Bill Clinton and located in downtown Little Rock. After a year of shooting as the back-up, I was asked to become the primary photographer for the school. Through this partnership, I've had the pleasure of meeting and photographing some amazing people, like Bill and Hillary Clinton, Lisa Ling, John McCain, Buzz Aldrin, Mike Huckabee, and (my personal favorite) former White House photographer Eric Draper.

in 2010, after seeing my work for the Clinton School of Public Service, I got a call from a photo editor at the New York Times, who wanted to hire me for a story about the famous watermelons of Hope, Arkansas. One of my photos from the watermelon story appeared in full color on the front page of dining section of the New York Times on July 24, 2010, where it took up the entire top half of the fold. I was (and still am) ecstatic.

Since then, I’ve shot a lot of assignments for the New York Times, Reuters, the Associated Press, Getty Images, The Wall Street Journal, and many other well-known news outlets.

Recent Years:

After getting established with the Clinton School and the New York Times, I was quickly able to move my photography focus from to more commercial, editorial, and advertising work.

Since then, I've been very fortunate to work with some amazing clients including Apple, Walmart, HGTV, Rolling Stone, Time Inc, The Wall Street Journal, Tyson Foods, and many others.

In addition to photography, graphic design has always been a hobby and creative outlet for me, and in 2019, I began offering professional design services to anyone that was even remotely interested.

In the past few years, I’ve had the pleasure of designing some really fun logos and artwork for various companies, musicians, and new business ventures all around the state.

Once I added in the design piece, it seemed silly to continue hiding my love for drawing from everyone, so I threw that into the blender as well, and when COVID sent everyone into lockdown, it kinda exploded.

Since then, my drawings and illustrations have popped up in magazines, profile pics, and business websites all over the galaxy. It’s been really fun to watch it grow.

Most recently, I’ve added video production to the mix, and I’m having a ton of fun with it. Many of our photography clients over the years have asked for video work, and we are very excited to bring that to the table in addition to everything else we do.
